In den meisten Kinos (3.376) startete Max Payne.
Die Videospielverfilmung, die ein wenig an Constantine ($30
Mio.-Start, $76 Mio. gesamt) erinnert, hat Trailer, die gut ankommen,
deswegen eröffnete der Mark Wahlberg-Film
auf Platz 1 mit $17,6 Mio., aber eine kurze Laufzeit ist
wahrscheinlich.
Die Teenklamotte
Sex Drive, die recht gute Kritiken erhielt und letzte Woche
Previews hatte (immer ein Zeichen, dass der Verleih meint, dass der Film
beim Publikum gut ankommen wird), erzielte in 2.421 Kinos ein $3,6
Mio.-WE.
Oliver Stones
dritter Präsidentenfilm (nach JFK und Nixon) ist W.
(sprich "dabbelju"). Ein Film, der in der heißen Phase des Wahlkampfs
verdammt schwer einzuschätzen ist und der Quotenkiller dieses
Wochenendes werden könnte - das WE war den Wahlkämpfern $10,5 Mio. in 2.030
Theatern wert.
Die Bestsellerverfilmung The Secret Life of Bees
mit Dakota Fanning, Paul Bettany, Queen Latifah,
Jennifer Hudson und Alicia Keys spricht vor allem ein
afroamerikanisches, aber auch ein weibliches Publikum an und nahm am WE in
1.591 Kinos $10,5 Mio. ein.
Der Rest
der Top Ten wird ausgefüllt von Beverly
