Die Neustarts
In den meisten Kinos (2.808) startete The Express.
Kein Jahr ohne einen historischen Footballfilm, die in den USA recht
ordentlich funktionieren, dafür aber im Rest der Welt von niemanden
gesehen werden. Der
Dennis Quaid-Film eröffnete am
WE mit $4,6 Mio. aber weit unter den Erwartungen.
Ridley
Scotts vierter Film mit
Russell Crowe startete in 2.710
Theatern. Der Mann, der niemals lebte bietet in der zweiten
Hauptrolle Leonardo DiCaprio,
dennoch gab es am WE mit $12,9 Mio. nur den dritten Platz.
Halloween naht
und deswegen gibt es dieses WE den ersten Horrorfilm mit Quarantäne,
dem Remake des spanischen Erfolgfilms REC. In 2.461 Kinos gab es
am WE immerhin $14,2 Mio. (am Freitag sogar die Nr. 1-Position).
Der Businessplan
von Walden Media ist ganz einfach: Filme für die ganze Familie (wie z.B.
Journey to the Center of the Earth, Die Insel der Abenteuer
und Prinz Kaspian von Narnia). Ihr viertes Projekt
dieses Jahr ist City of Ember. Dem Fantasyfilm mit
Bill
Murray wurde aber nicht viel zugetraut, die $3,1 Mio. in 2.022 Kinos am
Freitag bestätigen die Skepsis...
In drei Wochen nahm The Duchess in 127 Kinos
bislang $2,3 Mio. ein, nun wurde der Kostümfilm mit
Keira Knightley,
Ralph Fiennes und Charlotte Rampling breit gestartet - in 1.207 Theatern
gab es am WE ordentliche $3,3 Mio..
Der Rest
der Top Ten wird ausgefüllt von Beverly
Hills Chihuahua (-40 %), Eagle Eye - Außer
Kontrolle (-38 %) mit
Shia LaBeouf, Nick und
Norah - Soundtrack einer Nacht (-43 %), Das
Lächeln der Sterne (-38 %) mit
Richard Gere und Diane Lane, dem
Western Appaloosa (-34 %) sowie Fireproof
(-21 %).
Die Top Ten verlassen mussten Lakeview Terrace
(-42 %) mit Samuel L. Jackson,
